COON RAPIDS— Patricia Ann Petty [great granddaughter of Henry Nieland (1852-1959)], 45, of 761 Seventh Ave. in Coon Rapids died Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, at her home.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Annunciation Catholic Church in Coon Rapids with the Rev. Anthony Pick presiding and Deacon Louis Meiners assisting. Lectors will be Tia Vaux and Corrine South. Gift bearers will be Rick and Theresa Gelhaus.
Casket bearers will be Randy Malloy, Roger Petty, Kevin Petty, Anthony Flug, Josh Smouse and Chris Hartl.
Burial will be in Union Township Cemetery near Coon Rapids.
Visitation started at 2:30 and a rosary was prayed at 3 this afternoon at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll. Annunciation Parish will hold a Christian wake service at 7 tonight at the funeral home. Visitation will resume at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
A daughter of Victor and Darlene (Steinkamp) Tigges, she was born July 16, 1962, at Carroll, attended Carroll Community Schools and graduated from Carroll High School in 1980.
She and Dell Petty were married Aug. 28, 1982, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll with the Rev. Bryan Hughes officiating.
Mrs. Petty was a secretary at Syngenta Seeds in Coon Rapids the last 17 years.
She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church and Ladies Guild. She volunteered at the church and enjoyed working with flowers and collecting antiques.
Survivors include her husband, Dell, of Coon Rapids; a son, Bryan Petty, of Coon Rapids; a brother, Danny Tigges, of Carroll; a sister, Darcy Schonberger, and her husband, Rod, of Shawnee, Kan.; five sisters-in-law: Donna Gruhn and husband Don of Cedar Rapids, Linda Petty of Kansas City, Mo., Luann Olsen and husband Gary of Exira, Lori Cooper and husband Ivan of Plattsburg, Mo., and Elsie Flug and husband Rich of Audubon; and three brothers-in-law: Kevin Petty and wife Cherie of Exira, Roger Petty and wife Jaxine of Coon Rapids and Sidney Petty and wife Cherie of Atlantic.
Mrs. Petty was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Brent Petty; her grandparents: Joseph and Josephine Steinkamp and Frank and Mary Tigges; infant twin sisters, Janet Lee and Terri Lynn; two brothers-in-law, Ronald and Ralph Petty; and her parents-in-law: Ruby and Leo Petty.
